As founder and CEO of Essential Pharmaceuticals, LLC, Allan Weber brings more than 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical industry, with a focus on small to mid-sized companies and growth strategies for these companies.
Most recently, Allan was General Manager of Odyssey Pharmaceuticals, responsible for growing this start-up organization, including both current sales and marketing and new product development and acquisition. Allan played a key role in Odyssey’s recently completed successful buyout by Barr Pharmaceuticals. Allan’s experience includes positions of increasing responsibility in various sales, marketing, business development and strategic planning functions at Lavipharm Laboratories, Gynetics, Inc, and Carter Wallace. Allan began his career at Ethicon, Inc, a Johnson and Johnson company.
Allan received his BA in economics from the University of Maryland and his MA in economics/finance from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Chief Science Officer
Dr Elhofy developed the core technology for the Ess line of products and aided in creating patents around novel uses of materials.
Dr. Elhofy has served as Vice President in the Chicago office of Sikich Investment Banking. Adam has over 14 years of scientific research experience in the areas of immunology, neuroscience, and oncology. Adam leads the scientific evaluation of many due diligence efforts for the Life Science Funds for which Sikich advises on an ongoing basis.
Adam was the Principal Investigator of a nanotech startup with technology spun off from Argonne Laboratories, where he led the proof of principle effort and applied for SBIR funding. As a consultant, he has developed a pathway to market models for both novel therapeutics and new uses of existing products. He has also identified medical uses for an industrial product which led to the acquisition of angel funding and the beginning of a corporate partnership. Adam was funded by both the National Institutes of Health and the Multiple Sclerosis society as an investigator at Northwestern University Medical School. His doctoral research won him the award of the Top 5 trainee scientists by the American Association of Immunologists.
Adam has 14 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals. He has had a variety of roles with start-up biotech companies ranging from Principal Investigator to Director of Corporate Development.
Director of Corporate Operations
Denise has been with Essential Pharmaceuticals, LLC since its inception and brings a wealth of marketing and advertising experience and credits. She has been in the advertising and marketing fields for approximately 25 years. Having gained pharmaceutical marketing experience at Carter Wallace as a Marketing Coordinator, she was then recruited to the large New York ad agency, Sudler and Hennessey, where she continued working with large pharmaceutical companies such as Roche, and GE Medical Devices. BBDO, NY then scooped Denise up and quickly promoted her to Creative Associate, whereby she managed approximately 125 Creatives and their TV and print production projects. Denise was a voting member of the Emmy Awards for commercials. She was also on the Board of the highly coveted Andy Awards and the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Committee. After BBDO NY, Denise was Senior Director of Creative at London Int’l Advertising Awards.
Denise continues to make her mark within the marketing industry by recently being asked to present her social media concepts to the Digital Pharma East Conference in Philadelphia.
Denise has an integral part in developing company and product websites, brochures, and giveaways as well as editing videos, developing social media campaigns, etc. She also oversees the day to day operation of the corporate office.
Stacey joined Essential Pharmaceuticals, LLC as Product Manager in October 2015 with nine years of biology experience. Her passion and area of expertise is marketing new and existing products to new industry segments.
Stacey earned a BS in Biology from Ursinus College in 2006 and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ (now Rutgers University) in 2012. Her thesis focused on gene expression in the deadly human parasite Trypanosoma brucei. While completing her degree, Stacey was an adjunct instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ, developing the curriculum for and teaching Environmental Science lecture and laboratory.
Most recently, Stacey spent 3+ years at Roka Bioscience, Inc., a start-up company that launched clinical diagnostic technology developed by Hologic® (formerly Gen-Probe) to the food safety industry. During her tenure at Roka, Stacey wore many hats, including Technical Trainer, Product Manager, and Manager of the Field Applications team. She focused on product development, product marketing, and customer training for the first fully automated pathogen testing platform for the food industry.
Stacey’s background in new market development and academia/education fuel her interest in marketing products that push the boundaries of human health and biotechnology.
